I have to say that there are few places that feel like "home" to me in the way that Tiny's does. It has a very bygone Santa Fe feeling in the bar (only sit in the bar if you can help it), and has been fairly tried and true from the first time I went there with my family some 20 years ago. Live music is a great plus, and great margaritas, as well as good standard New Mexican food without having to pay a pricey bill, or be overrun with tourists. The flautas are very good, btw, and unless they changed something, they are not deep fried.

Hellllloooooo Tourists! And welcome to Santa Fe! Ok so... Tiny's lounge. It's a local establishment that's been around forever and although the owner is a crotchety old fart it is a nice place to go for drinks and good food. The prices are a bit high but hey... Welcome to Santa Fe. They do have THE BEST burger in the state. The chili rellenos are AMAZING and the nachos are to die for!! You need to order them with carne adovada and layered! I just finished a plate right now! 09/04/14 Hellen and Sofia are fantastic bartenders serving up great drinks, good service and fun personality! They offer a variety of entertainment throughout the week, open mic night, jam sessions with a band and a live band usually every Friday, no cover but they make up for it on the drink prices. I am Anglo and from out of state and have never experienced any animosity like a previous Yelper stated. I Recommend checking it out!!

Serving Santa Fe since1950. Family owned and operated for 65 years. Santa Fe's "Best kept secret" Travel & Leisure. Award winning Fajitas. "The chile Rellenos are the best in Santa Fe" Connisuier Magazine. The kind of place you're happy to find when you're looking for a nice local place to go have fun.

One of the only joints left in town without pretentious prices and drinks. The cheeseburger was very good.

There was just nothing redeeming about this place. Unless you count the drunk chick semi-mooning people (she was wearing pantyhose) at the bar, there was really no upside. I didn't count the semi-mooning as an upside, but far be it for me to deny others who might enjoy the show. ANYWAY, the food was bad, the atmosphere was dark and depressing, and my margarita was super sweet, had absolutely no bite, and appeared to be lacking any alcohol. The server was nice.

Margarita was so so. On sweet side with mix I think... No food avail 2pm to 5pm, not even chips salsa -nothing. Service was great tho, even though bartender-only.

If you find that you've been a bit too chipper or cheery lately, stop in to Tinys and get back to reality. Nothing like a few minutes at this place to make you want slightly suicidal. I went a few weeks ago to see a "band." It wasn't like torture, it WAS torture.

Tinys is always fun, enjoy the family atmosphere and the fresh homemade salsa is great. We've been there quite a few times and whether it's date night, or family dinner, Tinys alway delivers!

This was lots of fun on a Wednesday evening when they have open mike and pick up groups playing blues. The music was the best part. Very friendly customers some of the women asked me to dance, and I did. Great bar maid, good drinks. Came for the music and enjoyed the whole experience.

Sadly Tiny"s has receded into the backwaters of Santa Fe, and caters now only to local drunks and troublemakers. Used to be a good place to dance and have a burger. No more, with Police and contentious issues there now the rule. Depending on the bartender, it can be OK, but often the motif is to service regular local drunks and forget the rest. Very prejudicial, especially for Anglos.

Loved Jeanne d.'s review. This place is the definition of a Santa Fe spot that really only locals know about. It's tucked away is a non-desrcript strip mall and you'd never guess what great food they have or what a fun place it can be. I usually end up in the bar, big surprise there, and enjoy one of the better margaritas in town while waiting for some really tasty food. I honestly think this little place turns out some of the best New Mexican food in town but if you're not in the mood they also do a very good job with the standard steaks, chops, & some comfort food options. All set to live music on many nights and served up by some of the friendliest staff in town. You should check it out - just don't tell any of the locals I sent you. You may not run into any celebs but you'll have a great meal and a great time. Now that I think of it though, this is not typically a young crowd, so if you're looking for that, this place is not full of a bunch of 20 somethings.

I WON'T BE BACK. Okay, the service is friendly but not very good. The food - I ordered the famous chicken guacamole tacos. The first order was completely incorrect (ground beef,) the correction missing a title ingredient - no guacamole but it did have a HAIR which I removed before sending it back a third time. They charged for a little - and I mean little - green chilie instead of salsa. So here is my main complaint, does the waiter not check the order before delivering it to the table?? And, when I ask for a second napkin, it would be nice to get it with the meal, not the bill... Don't go; for all this and two beers w/ tip my bill was almost 30 Bucks. I won't be back.

Well, really a 3 and 1/2. Food is good, not great, but you go for the friendly atmosphere and the friendly service. VERY interesting decor. Would go back when I needed nourishment. Very filling.

Tiny's is a great local place with wonderful service. But the topper is the chicken fried steak with a mild green chili gravy which is their special on Thursdays. Freshly made. Omg I'm drooling just writing about it.

I was really looking forward to checking this place out for a friend's birthday bash...and although it was awesome to see a lot of people, the prices were ridiculously expensive for not even being a bar right on the plaza. I know cheaper bars that are within walking distance to everything near the plaza...and I'd rather sick to them.

Yelp Helps! Tiny's of Santa Fe has made the Esquire list of best bars in America. I did the first Yelp review of Tiny's, giving them five stars in 2007. Tiny's is very near the heart of the City of Santa Fe--it's just not in the Plaza area where it started out decades ago. At Tiny's Restaurant and Lounge on Pen Road off Cerrillos, next to the Crossroads Mall, there is plenty of space to park your vehicle and dance till you drop.

You can't get more local than Tiny's. Think old time supper club / bar environment. Apparently it even turns into a dance floor / club some nights. We were there on a Monday night, my last meal in New Mexico (sniff) so I went all out with an enchilada plate. If you're local you know to say "Christmas" when they ask what kind of chile you want. The staff was really friendly here and there was memorabilia all over the walls with all of Tiny's long history in Santa Fe. It's now operated by the third generation of the same family, and it's unfortunate that they fell upon hard times and had to move to a strip mall instead of in the more central plaza area. Hopefully yelp reviews and good ratings in travel guides will keep them in business. My food was delicious and a perfect last meal - just enough spice to the chile, gooey cheese melting everywhere, soaked up by yummy rice and a side of posole, and fluffy, buttery sopas for dessert. I am seriously going through chile withdrawal!

Tiny's is always a great time. I have been coming here since I was a kid and I love the atmosphere and the food. I am a chile Fanatic and even though I live in NY now I am a true Santa Fean at heart so I need my chile fix when I'm home and going to Tiny's is exactly where I get it!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
